Decent Idea!

I liked the idea of diffusing Bomberman's bombs, and you did it relatively well. It was fun to play to an extent, and it worked! However it wasn't as good a game as it could have been - you should perhaps have made each bomb have a timer - longer than in Bomberman, but still short enough to provide a challange... maybe each bomb could have a different time, meaning you have to plan your route according to the most urgent.

Also, you should have included powerups, or if not - you should have made different types of tools for different types of bombs. And perhaps if you REALLY wanted to make it interesting, you could have levels where you actually see Bomberman planting the bombs, and you have to diffuse his bombs and trap him...

Well those are just random suggestions - you could basically think of a lot more things yourself I'm sure... so I do hope you improve on this idea. It is a good one!

Nice!

I'm no fan of interactive "dressups" or things, even the fantastic Drag-racer thing, as much as I appreciated from a design perspective, I never really fully appreciated or enjoyed. It was a great Flash, but I'm easily bored...

However this was nice. It had a bit of humour, some nice artwork and a great feeling, obviously from someone who has decent talent as a Flash artist. Your presence on NG (by me at least) is appreciated, and don't let the pre-adolescent, sexuality-confused pratts put you off... Good work.

I myself made a table tennis-esque game. It was bloody hard to make - I think this system could be improved somewhat- and even though you probably know your problem do to with the bone-thing, I *might* have some input that could help...

Basically, I assume you're using a standard hittest with the ball and the 2 paddles - and the ball changes angle according to the Y coordinate values. Well basically, if the X coordinate values are too high (i.e. the ball goes too fast) - sometimes the ball will "skip" past the width of the paddle and not count it as a "hit". 2 ways to solve this - 1) you could easily widen the paddle, i.e. make it THICKER not LONGER. 2) you could slow down the ball - but that'd make a boring game.

Other than that, I did like it... I wondered how you made your system capable of changing angles of hitting the ball - the way I done it was a bit poor, I cut the paddle into segments, each corresponding to a different coordinate changing value (or "angle") when a hit test is run... a bit simplistic, so I'd be interested to see if you did it differently, or more accurately, better!

I might be a bit biased, since I was sent a personalised version of this - but this is a very nice Christmas flash movie! Well done Raphael - you managed to intertwine a very nice backing music with an actually fun-to-play game, and some very nice pictures!

Squan Razz! Its your Friend Barry... also a Flash Programmer... well, firstly, top class game! It rules, and is a good idea. Considering you are only a 15 yr old student who writes and animates himself, it is totally RULING! But, a few pointers... the in-game sound loop is not done properly...it repeats after,like, a 15 second gap, and i found it sounds real sloppy. Solve this by puttin music in 1 frame, not in like 100, and also use the sound property box to loop it, if you didnt already. Well great work... and as for the other IDIOT reviewers that mouthed it off, im sure you cant even begin to understand the complexities of designing a game of this quality... go screw yourselves, especially that weird bitch with the 'Rachael BJ Stoned' 'Joke'... very sad! Good work

thanks Barry! You're totally right... a lot of these arseholes on this site just look at the game compared to ones made by massive teams, they dont even stop to think of the coding! Well, I probably wont edit the sound, but if i ever do update the game, that will be the first thing I will change! Thanks for a ruling, informative review Baz
