Great movie... strange!

It's strange that I like this movie... though I definately don't go around blamming clock movies, I usually don't like them, and because I have seen so many cheap, bad clock movies, I have wrongly given clock movies bad names. However, this is a great movie, I have to say! The animation wasn't common, let's say, as many still-ish scenes were used, but it was effective. Plus, the graphics were "attractive" and kept it interesting.

Great use of sound too! It'd have been better if it wasn't clocks and had a story that appealed to non-clock lovers... but hey, that's just my opinion. Just like this review is just my opinion. And you are entitled to yours just as I am entitled to mine! Keep up the good work!

Wow...

It's been a while since I saw a real piece of humanity on Newgrounds, but this is what this movie shows. To be so honest and show your feelings in this way on Newgrounds is amazing enough, but to do it so well in a Flash movie is just crazy! At the end of the day, this movie is better than even some of the best NG submissions, simply due to the emotion attatched to it, which overwrites any reasonable comment anyone can make about the graphics.

I hope this movie was beneficial for you to make, as much as it was beneficial for me to watch - In those few minutes, it made me think pretty deeply!

RIP Damon

This ruled for what it was

I'm not going to be a bitch and say "work on the graphics man". I'll level with you - I rule at graphics animation... check my recent submissions, and even better, the ones I will submit soon. However, I have only once managed to assertain the type of wit you displayed with this, in my 'Violent Jim' movie, except that was a much worse idea than this!

Good movie man, I hope to see more. But it'd be nice if you submitted a variety of different movies. Saying that, I am still checking out your other submissions! Peace out!

This was good...

I liked this. It's obviously not front-page material or anything, it's just good quality portal-material. I can't wait for the actual real movie, I predict that to get a better mark - I'm giving you a well-deserved 2 for this one!

As long as you put some witty humour into the main movie, and get some bloody violence for the NG sickos, it will do good! I liked your use of animation, I know how hard it is to do whole frame-by-frame in a movie, so you took the interesting alternative of working different small parts of the bodies, like the eyes. Much more efficient, but also looks nice for the user!

Keep up the good work!

thanks for the review, anyways, i plan on irish pimp killing people like crazy in the real thing

I liked it...

Usually I try to judge 50% on direct userappeal, and 50% on Flash design, but I couldnt help just liking this for what it is... I liked the graphics, and though there wasnt much graphics/animation to speak of, there just didnt need to be! It left me semi-captivated, and I stopped making my own movie to watch this with full attention!

I wish it was longer to be honest! Well done, this definately deserves a 3/5

It wasnt that great...

When I saw the brilliant loadscreen and the great first graphic design, I thought, "Right, I'm in for a treat! Get your 4's and 5's out, Bazza!" But suddenly, i am greeted by semi-poorly animated stick figures, and a short movie... the backgrounds were better than usual, granted, but still! My first poor graphics/animation submission, the self-titled 'Fantastic Shootout' was tonnes better than this...

However, I am not only a man of Standard interface judging, I will judge on Flash workrate... obviously you worked a bit on Frame-by-frame, and my best guess is that you havnt fully mastered Flash. in that case keep experimenting... find a style you like, improve it, and then submit it. Oh yeah, dont be afraid of sound - www.flashkit.com has tonnes!

Congrats on the slightly-too-high score! I'll give you a 2, because there isnt a 1.5 button!

Not TOO bad...

I didn't mind this too much, it deserves to stay on NG as it kind of shows work. However even if you aren't great at animation, try to put some more backgrounds/camera angles on, or more frames to show different facial features, etc.

Also don't be afraid of the Motion tween! It is handy - not everything is Frame-by-Frame these days!

Just to note, for someone that has 18 surviving submissions (im not too sure WHY), you should be able to create better animation than this! Anyways - keep submittin'!

Funny! But not great...

It was a pretty funny movie, I have to admit - the music was great, and the animation was suitingly funny... as a normal NG viewer, I have to say its a lot better than most things in the portal. I liked it

However, only 50% if that, of my review style is based on the main message/idea of a movie, I also like to recognise it fairly for design/animation... and as a Flash artist myself, this is fairly easy - your animation was at times scrappy, and a little out of sync. if you didnt already, try streaming the audio to help sync your animations better with the soundtrack on another layer. Also EITHER spend more time on your drawings, or create groundbreakingly-above average frame-by-frame animations with less-well drawn pictures

Apart from that, good work! I hope to see more stuff from you in future, though I voted this 'nothing too new or interesting', that could soon change with a creative idea and a few more hours of animaton!

Fantastic...!!! I'm shocked!

Not very often do I award such high-scoring marks as I will for this... this included almost everything to such great depth, detail and humour that it pretty much deserves full marks on the way... I only wish it was longer, but I am amazed that you could keep it at such a reasonable length, with such great animations and sound, and it still is only 2.5mb. It is well worth waiting!

I hope to see many more movies from you, this is a really great input to Newgrounds... It beats 'Tribute to Animators' tenfold, and that was previously my most favourite movie!

yeh it was good...

.. but don't get big-headed. Firstly, now that you have shown the 'skills to pay the bills', don't just stay in your comfort zone with basic stick animation - xiao-xiao has an excuse, it is an original and marvellous series that the designer continues purely for memorabilia value, you do not have this choice.

Stick figures are fun, but save them for the beginners, huh? Don't hog the ideas! Experiment with more 'camera' angles, and also try to pay more attention to individual graphic design, and tween throughout the movie as opposed to frame-by-frame.

Anyways, you are obviously an accomplished animator, but you need to add variety to your work... great movie, you got a 4/5 in my book!
