I expected more... ='(

I used to LOVE that game, it was the thing I always used to play on my ol' Commador 64, and when I read this title, I kind of thought "wow! people actually remember and make movies about that game?? Cool!" - til I saw it.

It was a let-down as I had high hopes... The animation was decent I suppose...

I'm going to go sulk in my bed now!

Jszostak responds:

i never played the game... i prefered the comics

Someone's been doing their homework!

This is a really great submission. At first, I had trouble believing your credibility, with you saying it's your first Flash animation... then I realised, not everyone goes down my route of making really crappy animations before gradually improving! You obviously spent time honing and upgrading your skills offline, before making a project worthy to submit!

I'm impressed... animation is decent in both tweening and Frame-by-Frame, and your effects all fit in at the right times, i.e. scene-cuts, ect. I like the graphics a lot, I can tell some must have been hand drawn or smoething, which is impressive to integrate into an animation...

I loved it, basically - and I hope you continue to make more. You're a very decent artist, you get a 4!

thatdarnninja responds:

Thanks. The majority of it was handdrawn, scanned, and traced in flash. Glad you noticed.

Talent... VERY GOOD!

Movie... not so good. It had a story... just one one that captured my attention. Also, the SFX were a bit cheesy, especially the dropping/punching ones. I know how hard it is to find decent sound effects, but it would be much appreciated if you tried to use them (I'm a bit hypocritical, since I've used exactly the same ones as you have on some of my movies!! But you're more talented than me it seems).

It looks like you put real effort into this - however even though your environments have good detail, little touch-up effects like gradients, or unusual objects would have done fantastic wonders - also, more animation from scene to scene...

That's just my input... and I personally didn't find the actual content that interesting. Flash was good though!

TwistedAnimations responds:

It had a story? Haha. I never attended any of the movies to have much of a story. Most of them were just random acts of spoofs. This one had random spoofs as well as being one big parody of Night of the Living Dead. Thanks for the other input and suggestions and for the review.

I know my numbers don't average out...

If you took the average of the scores I gave you for each component, it wouldn't add up to 10. That's beacuse a few movies have something that you can't grade in such a simple way...

The graphics weren't the best I've seen, the sound wasn't the best I've heard. The animation was fantastic, but not the best I've witnessed either. Big deal - this flash was amazing. Truely amazing.

The story was incredible, the timing was seamless, the characters were well-defined and developed, and it truely gave me inspiration and feeling... one or two of the lines were slightly on the cheesy side, but that didn't stop this being a really excellent movie. Well done, you should be proud of yourself for posessing such brilliant talent. I hope you continue to grow as a Flash artist on NG, and you definately deserved an award for this! Voting 5 all the way!

AligatorHead responds:

NO not flash artist on NG, just a person you know? But yeah Ng is fun i liike to submit stuff os i GUESS i can grow up here. but im just a cartoon artist NOT FLASH artist. but CARTOON artist. thanx

Impressive graphics...

I liked the graphics, they were nie and smooth - and the animation was pretty good too - although more could have gone on in the movie. I like the closeups of the character's faces though.

A little short, but yes I know I know - a trailer. I just think that you should have not released this until the real thing comes out, beacuse it's like you've used material here taht you could have integrated into the main movie - if you do that now it'll kind of cheapen it a bit...

I liked the batman idea too, hehehe! Oh yeah - and your main menu sucks - you need to make it clearer and bolder, with the title of the movie more pronounced, but that's not really too much of a problem.

Basically I'd like to see much of the same thing in the new movie, but with more "action", and I don't mean violence necessarily, just more action-shots, more panning, zooming, etc - and obviously more jokes. Plus the voice actors aren't the best - but it's damn hard to find 'em anyway as I'm well aware, trying to find some for myself!!

Take care and good luck with the project

thecolony responds:

Tnx, all of whaty you complained about has improved, except the voice actors, but I keep on searching

LOL!

Haha, that was class...

I may hate clocks, and I may hate locks, but I like good Flash movies. I like the way your rhymes fit the beat well - that must have been some pretty good sound editing. Shows you took some effort making this.

Oh yeah - great rhymes! They could have been a bit more ridiculous, but they were ridiculous enough to make me laugh - seeing a lock sing about getting rambunctious with a "slut"! Hehehe...

Rabbid-Squirrel responds:

thank you for your kind review. i did spend quite a while on the flash getting the raps to fit the beat. in fact i spent so much on making the music and the rap, i forgot the rap artist. lol. but yeah it was difficult. thanks again. sequel coming late may/early june

Alright

Not too great - the animation was nice at points, but sloppy at critical moments. For example, if you're chopping off a gigantic green giant demon's head while it's trying to stab you with it's huge, needle-like claws... it shouldn't be animated as lazily as that!

I wanted to see a bit more fanciness, maybe a few more special effects, and some nicer acrobatics from the characters perhaps. But again, it was ok

PartiallyCorrupt responds:

The boss was a tad bit hard for me too animate. I really think I bit off much much more than I could chew with that guy. Thanks for the advice!

Heh heh heh!

I liked it. Can't really say much more than that, except for "LEARN HOW TO MAKE A PROPER LOADING SCREEN!!!". But it doesn't really matter anyway...

Keep it up.

DragonSnare responds:

oh the preloader is because I was using the Flash MX 2004 trial so I could figure it out on that

Stylish!

I liked this movie, many ideas rolled into one "short" film. The graphics were fine, I don't get everyone's complaint - this was obviously quite well-optimised. I say quite, bearing in mind it was still over 4.5mb, but that isn't bad at all. I liked the different styles of drawings.

However, I felt that the animation was slightly "scrappy"; I mean, it was nice, but the smoothness of it was affected probably due to the framerate. Also, the use of in-between "fillers" moving from one frame to another would help. But then again, with the pulsing music, it did seem to fit the style so perhaps that was the effect you had.

I don't know - it's not my job to give a detailed insight into the conceptual ideas of the artist! I just make stuff - and vote on other people's stuff ;c)

FemJesse responds:

Yes I left the framerate at 12. I couldn't imagine it fitting if it were any higher. I'm working on another right now of a song I wrote called "If I could Nuke the World" which is a spoof of "If I Could Teach the World to Sing..."

Touching.

People!! The animation isn't spectacular on this movie... SO?? The author of this movie, used Flash as a medium of his innermost feelings, thoughts and emotions - and he not only did this, but he reflected it onto all of us. If you're too stonehearted to see this, I suggest you keep your opinions locked away in your cold minds. I challange any of you, regardless of your creative Flash talent - to create a Flash movie that comes close to being as expressive and as strong as this one...

After all, isn't that the idea of movies? As far as I'm concerned, this is a great piece of work

DalmatianStars responds:

*hug* Thank you so much.. I actually do animate in flash a lot, but haven't uploaded them here. I just wanted to share my video with people and spread the word of love. *hugs again*
